Meet Cash. This little man is 2 weeks, and a big boy! I don't usually photograph babies over 10 days, but due to weather and Christmas, we had no choice! He wanted to be awake for the entire session. :) Grandpa finally had the magic touch, and lulled him to sleep.

This will be my last client post for 2008, and the last client post on this BLOG. I am very excited to upgrade my blog to a WordPress which will allow me to post HUGE images for my sneak peeks! No more little tiny ones! I will post the link to the new Blog within the next two weeks!

Tradition is so important in my family. There is something so comforting in continuity. My kids have really grasped that concept; and I have learned how vital it is for each of us to feel connected that way. Making cookies for instance, it's so much more than that...it's the relationships, the smells, the warmth of the ovens baking, the sounds of Christmas music in the background. Life is so busy, and I am grateful to have been gifted this day to spend with my girls, and my dear mom. Priceless.

Sidenote...I had to laugh at my daughters "CELL PHONE"! Glued to her hip as always! And of course I couldn't leave out my best friend, Mr. Peppermint Mocha! :) Miss A is holding our traditional Christmas Mouse dessert. :)

This little sweetie was so full of personality! She is getting ready to turn six this month, and her mama wanted some special pictures of her. This is an out-take from a recent family session. This little dolly was SO adorable. It got a bit chilly, so daddy gave her his shirt to keep her warm between shots. It ended up being my favorite from the session. :) More to come later.

How is it possible that my little boy is 16 years old today. I am TOO young to have a 16 year old! LOL I don't know that at any age a parent is prepared for their child to turn 16. :) This young man means the whole world to me. I am extremely grateful today for this amazing gift God blessed me and his dad with 16 years ago today, all 10 POUNDS of him!

It's these milestones in my children's lives that cause me to miss Daniel (my late husband) so much, it hurts. I know how proud of his kids he would have been. I thank God every day for filling in the "gaps", and I am humbled by how amazing these kids are turning out to be.

This wonderful family hired me again, this time for their Christmas photos. We had the most beautiful weather; cold, but sunny! Their two gorgeous little boys were such a delight! They were SO patient with me when I kept calling Dad "Richard"! HA HA! That is NOT his name, but he looks so much like Richard Gere, that I was stuck! (I felt like such a dork) LOL

Today is my 36th birthday....as I blow out my candle, I can't help but reflect on what awesome adventures this past year has brought me personally. I am especially thankful today for a year of health and wholeness. Thank you everyone for believing in me!

So....I have to give PROPS to my 11 year old daughter who shot these images of me. :) These shots are in camera crop, and she shot them handheld! I am one proud mama! She is a natural!

My kids know that I am a coffee finatic, so of course my birthday cupcake had to be a chocolate cup of espresso!

What can I say...this young man is a natural. I thoroughly enjoyed our downtown session, and our mini-session at the the HS gym. I had to laugh when his mom told me he was 6'5"!! I am a whopping 5'3"! Needless to say, I brought my step-stool. I honestly could not narrow it down to a few favorites, as I really like so many. Took my girl out for a mini-session last week to play with some backlighting exposures. Being a natural-light photographer, I am always challenged with different lighting scenarios. I try to shoot most of my sessions in open shade, so I don't have to struggle with specular highlights, and harsh lighting. But, some of my favorite shots I have are in lighting situations like this. I love how the light wraps around her face, highlighting her femininity. It's all about the light. :)

This was the best session ever. 2 years and 2 months are very difficult ages to photograph, and I had both!! I must say though that I am very pleased with the results. The mom was a foreign exchange student that lived with my dad and stepmom several years back. She returned with her husband and daughter to the states for a 6 week vacation. So..thanks to my step-mom Linda, I was encouraged to join our city's local Chamber of Commerce. THANK YOU LINDA!!

Last night the Chamber held a trade-show for new members, and I had my own little display set-up. I was VERY nervous. OK..I almost puked when I had to stand in front of a room full of people and introduce myself, talk about my business etc. I am very uncomfortable in large crowds, and I do not like to be the center of attention. I survived, and I am so glad that I participated in the trade show. I met so many wonderful people, and I loved the community support that was expressed there.

I am so humbled by the response I received from people looking at my work. I am truly thankful, and encouraged.

Here is one of my FAVE images that I brought to the display, people went nuts over it. I had it printed 16X12 on metallic...it looked awesome!!!
